There are many arguments about the advantages and disadvantages of people think eamination is the only best way to test how eaminees have mastered what they have studied and it is the only measurement for eaminers to select which persons they , on the other hand, some object that eamination cant measure how the students have really say it can do nothing but burden the students.

As for me,i think for both eaminers and eaminees, the eamination can show what and how much the eaminees have results of eaminations are just like mirrors for both eaminers and eaminees.

Through eamination the eaminees can check their work and get aware of which aspects they have not done well,so that theyll make much improvement in their far as eaminees are concerned, they can not only know how they have studied but also find out what they still unknown or what they havent mastered will be inspired to greater efforts to improve their studying method so as to make greater course too many eaminations are burbens to both eaminers and eaminees.

In sum,the eamination does more good than harm for both eaminers and must take a correct attitude towards should take full advantage of it and avoid its disadvantage.

Usually I would do some exercises on the weekend, because I thought keeping in a good health can help me study well. Last weekend, It was rainning outside so I decided to do some exercises in the gym. When I went into the gym, some people were doing exercises there. A man was doing weight training and trying his best to upraise heavier weight. There were two girls running on the treadmill(跑步機(jī)),neither too fast nor too slow. In the next room there was a fitness instructor(健身教練) was teaching some young people doing yoga(瑜珈), which made they do some strange actions.

After some minutes' warm up (熱身),I started to run on the treadmill and ride on the exercise bike(健身腳踏車). Both of them were easy and good for most of people. Besides,I did some dumbbell (啞鈴)exercises ,seating type chest pushing, high pulling force back muscle training, butterfly clamp chest muscle training, thigh stretching, leg treading, abdomen muscle training, vertical pulling force training.

in the past, technological advancement was generally held to be synonymous with progress, and progress to be synonymous with absolute good. people thought of technology as a solution to problems, not a creator of them. as we took each step forward, technologically speaking, we assumed that we were leaving old difficulties behind and advancing into a new and more pleasant future. this was only partially true. for us technological advancement did solve old problems, it also created new ones. these problems are of various types, each having different implications and requiring different degrees of human decision.

one set of problems can be readily identified by looking around. these problems concern the pollution of our environment by technology as a result of sudden upsets and imbalances in the physical, economic and social equilibrium. the most obvious aspects of these are the general pollution of our physical environment and the destruction of irreplaceable natural resources.not so obvious as these, but just as painfully significant to some, are the effacement and displacement of jobs which over

night often create large groups of jobless citizens.

can technology be used to undo what it has done, replace what it has destroyed or substitute what it has caused to disappear? no one knows. many of us wonder whether all of the sources of pollution have yet been identified, whether they are being arrested and whether they will be prevented from recurring.

another set of problems relate to what technological advancement has done to the quality of life. an improved life has not been, unfortunately, either the goal or the chief beneficiary of technological change. too much has happened too fast. in contrast, in the past, things changed slowly enough to accommodate gradual change. people could be aware of it and adjusted to it, and perhaps they could even change it. in the modern world, we must make rapid decisions today, or tomorrow we

may find a whole new world built up.

presumably the most significant and potentially eplosive issues, however, are those related to methods of human manipulation and control. there is also the new horizon of genetic analysis, manipulation and correction. and there is now the possibility of creating a living substance and decoding and generating a complete organism from the information found within a cell.this is no longer a daydream. some consider these possibilities visions, others nightmares.

it is true that incredible powers are now within our hands,or at least within our reach, and the question no longer is can we do it? but how soon can we do it? our lives have been and are being changed drastically. the point is to take control of technology or to be driven by it.

mooncakes are to mid-autumn festival what mince pies are to christmas. the seasonal round cakes traditionally have a sweet filling of lotus seed paste or red bean paste and often have one or more salted duck eggs in the center to represent the moon. and the moon is what this celebration is all about. mid-autumn festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th month, it is the time when the moon is said to be at its brightest and fullest. this year the festival falls on october 1.

there are two legends which claim to explain the tradition of eating mooncakes. one tang dynasty myth holds that the earth once had 10 suns circling it. one day all 10 suns appeared at once, scorching the planet with their heat. it was thanks to a skillful archer named hou yi that the earth was saved. he shot down all but one of the suns. as his reward, the heavenly queen mother gave hou yi the elixir of immortality, but she warned him that he must use it wisely. hou yi ignored her advice and, corrupted by fame and fortune, became a tyrannical leader. chang-er, his beautiful wife, could no longer stand by and watch him abuse his power so she stole his elixir and fled to the moon to escape his angry wrath. and thus began the legend of the beautiful woman in the moon, the moon fairy.

the second legend has it that during the yuan dynasty, an underground group led by zhu yuan zang was determined to rid the country of mongolian dominance. the moon cake was created to carry a secret message. when the cake was opened and the message read, an uprising was unleashed which successfully routed the mongolians. it happened at the time of the full moon, which, some say, explains why mooncakes are eaten at this time.

mooncakes are usually stamped with chinese characters indicating the name of the bakery and the type of filling used. some bakeries will even stamp them with your family name so that you can give personalised ones to friends and family. they are usually presented in boxes of four which indicate the four phases of the moon. traditional mooncakes are made with melted lard, but today vegetable oil is more often used in the interests of health.

mooncakes are not for the diet-conscious as they are loaded with calories. the best way to wash down one of these sticky cakes is with a cup of chinese tea, especially jasmine or chrysanthemum tea, which aids the digestion.

He wanted to be a pirate one day,and found treasure in pirate islands… He had a conversation with his mother oneday for certain. It was about being a pirate one day for once in hislifetime…

“Mom, I want to be a pirate one day, and find treasures in buried islandsand…” “Whoa! Hold there son, what do you mean by, you what to be a pirate?”asked his mother, “Well it is that I just want to hunt for treasure instead ofjust being a regular boy like usual…”

flowers and coconut leaves are daily necessities in balinese life. along with cooked rice, they are normal gifts to gods as the natives of bali, xsland of sacrifices set offerings in front of their houses every day, not to mention on special dates.

you get a glimpse of the islanders carefree lifestyle from the common scene of small clusters of farmers enjoying a leisurely chat by the paddy fields, having laid down their hoes. a recess could easily last two or three hours, according to our guide.

on my recent visit, i noticed automobiles festooned with designs woven out of coconut leaves on their fronts. it turned out that sacrifices had just been offered with a prayer for road safety. the fast growth of tourism and traffic had brought about frequent accidents on the island, prompting the natives to add afe driving to their sacrificial calendar.

the balinese entrust everything in life to divine providence. even when a house is virtually burnt down, our local guide told us, people would celebrate their good fortune if any part of it were spared by the fire. such contentment is what leads the islanders through life in their peculiar happy-go-lucky manner.

once at nightfall, when passing the swimming-pool at my hotel, i caught sight of some balinese dancers in ethnic costumes getting ready for their performance. with delicate care, the girls picked their head adornments from the flower-bed and fied the blossoms on to their hair. what grows in nature comes natural to them as the need arises.

presumably, flowers bloom from heaven and leaves sprout from mans heart. to the accompaniment of the jingling lutes and babbling brooks, they embellish this world for the balinese, and lend wings to their imagination for an even sweeter net world.

Electronic Dictionaries or Traditional Paper Ones

Nowadays more and more electronic gadgets emerge, among which various kinds of electronic dictionary is not the least uncommon. Rarely can you find a student who does not have an E-dictionary tucked somewhere in his schoolbag. They are popular with students partly because they are small and light-weighted compared with the traditional paper dictionaries and partly because students cannot only look up a word for the meaning but also hear its pronunciation. A useful tool for students it is also a good companion for a person constantly on the go/move. A multi-functional E-dictionary is simply a must because it serves the owner in many other ways, such as keeping name cards, being used as a calculator, and even playing games on it. However, still other people hold that the traditional paper dictionaries are more advantageous in some circumstances. Although the letters are usually very tiny and thus in need of a good eyesight for this kind of dictionaries, the explanation of a word, plus its usage and collocation, are nonetheless more detailed, and more illustrations are provided. While it is true that the paper dictionary is heavy and awkward to carry along, an E-dictionary can run out of power or battery at any time. In spite of their similar functions, the electronic and paper dictionaries are in striking contrast with each other both in physical looking and their contents. However, there is no such thing as good one or bad one. As far as I am concerned, I always pocket an E-dictionary wherever I go. On bus or on the roads you can see me referring to it now and then. But at home I always turn to my heavy but voluminous paper dictionary from which I can not only get the meaning of a new word, but also all its origin, usage and collocation with phrases or sentences going with them.

Nowadays, traffic jam is a growing worry for the residents in most metropolises, contributing to irritation of drivers and pedestrians. How to cope with this problem? Almost all local government in China is irritated by this problem. From my point of view, it’s evident that we should pay more attention to this issue and any country or city which turns a blind eye to this issue will pay a heavy cost.

In order to deal with this conundrum in the essence, firstly, I am firmly convinced that regulations that ban the abuse of private car must be taken into action. Personally, each family ought to have less than 3 cars, the individual who doesn’t abide by the rules must be punished or charged more taxation.

Additionally, the infrastructure also serves as a linchpin. Without roads and streets of high quality, the city’s transportation system will easily paralyzed during rush hours. Therefore, government should fix time and energy on the construction of infrastructure with high quality.

What’s more important, since this conundrum will not solved in a short period of time, it’s necessary for all drivers and pedestrians to have a good attitude towards traffic jam when traffic piles up. Great methods such as listening to the music, can readily relieve the anger and anxiety of drivers and pedestrians.

With the cooperation of both government and individuals, we may finally get over this trouble with our perseverance, confidence and fortitudde.

We are friends ah, you know!" And so on. Honestly, the relationship between she and I really really good, I think that is not a better friend than my mother.

  19. Make our cities greener

In recent years, while our industries and businesses have developed quickly, the number of trees in many big cities has dramatically reduced. Efforts are being to prevent form cutting more trees, but to realize the significance of making cities greener is of importance. Making cities greener has many advantages. First, it can make our air cleaner. Scientific research has proved that trees can reduce great amount of carbon in the atmosphere through absorption. Secondly it can make our cities more beautiful.

Sometimes, when i sat with my dorm mates, chatting with them, one of the most easperating topics is that although we regard chinese as a very intelligent nation, among those geniuses who solved the worlds most difficult and confusing mathematical problems are french people, germans, british people, japanese, but no chinese. it is true that chinese students often come first in the international mathematics competition. but among those young masters, how many will go on developing their talents? very few. in fact, some of them only use this kind of competition as a stepping stone, which could make their way to top universities easier. and they will never want to touch a single mathematical figure again after their goal is achieved.most of them seem to have reached their peeks in high school and before they could practically contribute to the world of mathematics.

Among the seventy years history of the fieldz prize, the only winner born in china is chou tongcheng, who is now a professor in harvard university. once after chou interviewed a candidate for a post in one of the most prestigious universities in china, he was astonished, if a student behaves like this, i would not even give him a masters degree. its not that i am pessimistic, the problems really eist.

Why should the reality be like this? i think the answer is rooted in our education system. after 12 years education in china, the students are familiar with all kinds of question types likely to appear in the eamination and mastered corresponding methods to answer these questions. thats why almost all prizes of those competitions are taken by chinese. but where the chinese education fails is how to empower the students with the ability to find proper problem solving methods by themselves.those young masters spend most of their time doing vast quantities of eercises with their development of creative abilities neglected. they work like a computer with a pre installed program.they perform very well on the problems they have been programmed for. but if they meet something new, they just break down.

If we want to make our country a powerful nation, measures have to be taken to make our students more creative. the education system should be less pragmatic and more innovative, students should be developed individually rather than be molded into the same shape. and many good practices in western culture should be introduced. there is really a long way for us to go.the most urgent thing is, to start to reform immediately.
